Who We Are

KU Food Contact Materials (KU FCMs) offers testing services including the challenge test of recycled plastics and migration testing of food contact materials, in order to meet the regulatory standards for food contact applications. We also provide consulting and training regarding food contact materials and packaging, as well as research service which are critical for developing advanced packaging solutions that maintain food quality and safety throughout the supply chain.

KU FCMs is a research and testing center for food contact materials, originated from a research unit of the Department of Packaging and Materials Technology, Faculty of Agro-Industry at Kasetsart University (KU) in Thailand. Our research team engages in extensive research on food contact materials, focusing on safety and innovation of packaging, with the research funding supports from the government such as the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness Enhancement (PMU-C) and the Agricultural Research Development Agency (Public Organization) (ARDA).

We collaborate with national (e.g., Department of Science Service, Thai FDA, Thailand) and international partners (e.g., Dario Dainelli – Policy & Regulatory Affairs LLP, Belgium; Food Contact Center Srl, Italy). We also participate in technical advisory board meetings and roundtables to make our expertise available and to remain constantly updated on the regulations of food contact materials.
