On July 24, 2024, the Department of Packaging and Materials Technology, Faculty of Agro-Industry, Kasetsart University, held a seminar on “Global Food Contact Materials Regulations: Update and Safety Evaluation of Plastic Recycling Process for Food Contact Materials” at Maruay Garden Hotel. The event aimed to provide updates on international food contact material regulations and share evaluations of plastic recycling processes for food contact materials to support industries producing plastic pellets and packaging from rPET, as well as laboratories and food/beverage manufacturers that use rPET containers. This seminar activity was part of our research project on “Developing a Standardized Laboratory for the Safety Evaluation of Plastic Recycling Processes for Use in Food Contact Materials,” funded by the Program Management Unit for Enhancing the Country’s Competitiveness (PMU-C) under the National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) research plan.
